50 Book Challenge

I have a bad habit of aquiring lots of books and never getting around to reading them. So this year I'm doing the 50 book challenge to make a dent in the growing mass of pristine unread books. Since a lot of my books are large, mostly informational, books I'm also including mangas to even this out. This should also make sure that when I buy a manga it geats read pretty quickly rather than becoming part of another unused collection.

Finished
  1. Samurai Deeper Kyo - part 1 - (manga)
  2. Samurai Champloo - part 1 - (manga)
  3. Fake - part 1 - (manga)
  4. Fake - part 2 - (manga)
  5. Island - part 6 - (manga)
  6. Buhido by Inazo Nitobe - 152 pages

Reading
  1. Soul Of The Samurai by Thomas Cleary* - 154 pages - 5%
  2. The Ode Less Travelled by Stepehn Fry - 377 pages - 15%
*Translations of works by Yagyu Munenori and Zen Master Takuan

Ok, so my life was totally killing me... so I changed it. Extreemly changed it. I quit my job, which meant I had to quit my old uni, went back to england, found a new fantastic uni course, moved into new residence halls, joined new club, met new people, and everything is so much more bright and happy and unstressful now. I do need a new job though. Just a nice, simple, few-hours one.

I've started with a foundation year, which means most of my classes are mind-numbingly easy.. except for one cos the teacher is confusing everyone constantly. Anyway it give me loadsa time to work on other stuff I wanna do. I've been teaching myself Japanese and it's going pretty well.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, life is good. I'm gonna go find some memes to do.

PS I have a sink in my room now. Blimmin eck what a difference that makes!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Could people just STOP creating problems that take time to fix. I don't care how small or solvable it is, everything uses up TIME!! And everythign has to be remembered to be dealt with. Usually during office hours. ARGHDAMMITSTRESSEDSTRESSED

So, yeah, the last two weeks nearly DID kill me. Sleep?? Sleep???? Then even with the exams over, my roomate had been keeping me up day and night with noise and snoring. Thanks goodness for friends with spare beds! I spent the last two nights in different rooms and it's been a heeeugh help. Although it might have been even better if I didn't end up talking till 4am each time.

But it's not over. I didn't get a scrap of work done all weekend :(( So I guess I won't be sleeping tonight either.

Hmm, yeah, I really should get going with that work.. soon.. hmmm...

Oh bugger

I AM studying inbetween distractions. However I just found out we wern't given the planned amoutn of homework for physics, which means my overall score is much lower that I'd calculated, which means it's impossible for me to get a C, and if I managed to unexplicable screw up like on the last test, there's even a chance I could fail! (Sorry about the length of that sentance.)

So yeah, I'm P'd off. I've already got one class I'll be retaking. Two will be ridiculous. (Not that I'd retake.. I'd take the piss-easy class instead. I only took this one for personal interest)

Oh well, in theory I should do ok.

There's more to life than exams, but I don't wanna talk about work

Man! I think I burned myself out a little with my Drawing final, and sketchbook, and redraws. Plus my neighbours were arguing until 5am last night (grrr). I just can't concentrate on studying for my exam tommorow. But hey, it's only on quantum mechanics. I mean, who consideres that hard??

:-\

If I don't get a replacement roomate I'm gonna start singing as I study.

Btw, my drawing teacher rocks. She brought cookies and PEPSI to the last class. Ye gads did I need the caffiene.

Food. It's everywhere.

So I lived though the exams, but urk.. physics did not go as well as it should. Then when I went to see my boss, prepared for a bollocking for not arranging to meet with AK this week, I walking into a.... buffet? AK popped out of the crowd, with a plate, and said "he's around here somewhere."
"Probably getting more food", I replied, and glaced at over at the table to see the boss getting more food.

So the meeting turned into my boss trying to convice me to eat some food to curb his guilt at having thirds already. But fate had better food instore for me, cos when I got to Anime club someone had brought in melon bread for everyone. And I actually LIKED it.

Oooh, I shouldn't have taken those pills after eating lettuce and drinking coke. Now I'm all fartyburpy.

1/4 through

My ankle hurts. Stop hurting! Yews got a long way to go yet today, and heavy things to carry.

*takes pills and decides not to take big drawing pad into class today*

Physics test went.. not great. The quantum mechanics is easy, it's figguring out how I'm supposed to draw the right diagram thats hard.

Programming test in 2 hours and I havn't even studies yet. But if that wanker teacher is gonna give an exam 2 weeks after the last one, with no prior warning, then those of us with, yerknow, JOBs and stuff can't just magic more time outa thin air on such short notice.

I need a nap. I'll prolly go into a trance in art class. And teacher will be all "arn't you glad it's friday?" while I try not to pass out.

Was I supposed to take two of those pills? Oh, I'll have a cookie, that'll sort it out.

Apr. 28th, 2005

Hello hello

Urgh, gotta start physics revision. Gotta start physics revision. Or maybe I should have a little nap first.

If I don't get physics done quickly, I might not have time to revise for the my programming test. Then again, I'm 98% certain I'm gonna end up retaking my programming class anyway, so if it really worth studying at all? Two hard tests on the same day, and at the end of it I'll get a bollocking for my boss for not arranging a meeting with someone who's as equally short of time as me.

Ah, I'm glad I found this nice cosy asylum because the next 3.... make that 2 and a bit, weeks are gonna drave me well over the edge.

Ok, I think I do need a nap. Then a trip out to print notes I won't read.
